The casting of the alloy is the first step in creating a wedding ring.
The acredo production works with the best-in-class principle. To do this, we mix and melt over 30 precious metals ourselves.
The casting workshop is an impressive place where the individual components of each alloy are melted under intense heat. Our casters are not only passionate, they are also innovative.
At acredo the range of alloys goes from gold over palladium to platinum. Our newest addition is the valuable platinum gold.
Our gold alloys are yellow, white, grey, rose, red and green gold. We have patents for some of these.
From an alloy to a ring blank
First the bars are casted from the very hot, liquid metal.
The thickness of the bars is then reduced by repeated rolling. This condenses the material while preparing it for the later wear and tear of a wedding ring.
Once the final thickness has been reached, the ring blank is punched out with great force. This is the highest quality way to produce wedding rings. By punching out the complete ring, there is no need for a soldering joint later.
Then, the interaction of manual and machine processing of the ring continues.
Our ring shanks have an unusual degree of hardness thanks to our special hardening processes. The hardness is measured and expressed in Vickers (HV).

The ring takes shape
The next work steps give the ring blank its individual profile shape and ring size.
The turning can take place manually or on state-of-the-art CNC machines. Your configuration data controls the precision lathing process of the precious metal. This gives the ring its shape, width and height. The ring shavings are recycled.
After each work step, the ring is closely examined by the critical eyes of our specialists.
If your design has a groove, for example, the groove is then cut into the ring with the help of diamond tools. Utmost precision and concentration is required here.
Setting the stones
Our jewel setters need a steady hand and great sensitivity when they set the diamonds.
At acredo you have a wide range of settings and stones. Brilliant-cut, princess, baguette or heart-shaped diamonds - they don’t only have to be held safely, they must also harmonise perfectly with the ring shank.
A rub over stone is placed in a recess that has usually been pre-drilled in the ring shank. The complete material is rotated.
The miracle crown holds the stone with 4 grains that are cut from the precious metal. This setting looks square and is suitable for both single stones and diamond bands.
Another popular setting for diamond bands is the channel setting. Stones are set next to one another without a gap in-between; the channel is usually pre-milled. The stones are only held at the top and bottom and appear to be floating.
Shiny or matt
The wonderful shine on the rings is achieved by polishing. This task requires utmost finesse.
The trained eyes of our skilled polishers are vastly superior to any machine. Polishing is therefore pure craftsmanship.
The existing surfaces, such as a satin finish, must be taken into consideration.
The surface structure is a strong design element.
The classic ring shines because of its polished surface. If you prefer a subtle, rather design-oriented surface, you can go for sand matted or vertical matted.
Slantwise or ice matted and hammered surfaces impress with a more unusual or stronger structure.
Every piece of jewelry becomes absolutely unique when engraved. Modern laser technology means acredo can provide any kind of engraving from the classical name and date to free drawings.
We have specialists who implement your engraving ideas. Once your rings have been manufactured in our factory, we turn your template into reality.
Each engraving is precision work. The ring must be positioned exactly before the laser begins its work. Concentration and dexterity are indispensable for this.
In the same way that every stone is inspected closely by our specialists, the final manufacturing phase is followed by quality control of the finished piece of jewelry.
Every detail is verified under the microscope: height, width, sectioning, profile, surface, stone setting and engraving.
